Homeopathy

The word Homeopathy is a Greek derivative homoios (similar) and pathos (disease). Homeopathic remedies are derived from plant, mineral and animal sources. Founded over 200 years ago by German physician, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), Homeopathy is a natural therapy based on the principle of like cures like.

Homeopathy works at a deeper level by stimulating the inherent ability of the body to heal. Disease is caused by an imbalance of energy which is evident through signs of illness. A homeopathic remedy can be taken to induce a process of healing, which in turn, restores a state of balance and ease to the body.

Most common chronic and acute disorders respond well to homeopathic treatments and remedies are easy to administer.

Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic is a Conventional and Holistic Natural therapy clinic for Pets in Melbourne. We treat dogs, cats and other pets with Homeopathy for various conditions. It can be combined with other naturopathic therapies such as Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Laser therapies.

Acupuncture for Pets (Dogs, Cats and other animals)

Originated from China, 4500 years ago, Acupuncture is the oldest system of medicine still used today. It is an ancient form of healing based on the theory that the body has the ability to heal itself.

Holistic Acupuncture works by inserting fine sterile needles into specific points (acupuncture points) on the body to stimulate its inherent self-healing process. Acupuncture points are sensitive points in the body that affect the circulation and flow of energy. In a healthy pet, energy is balanced and flows smoothly, however, an unhealthy or unwell pet would have its energy blocked. By inserting these needles in the specific acupuncture points, this blockage is released, allowing the body to rebalance and restore the pet’s health.

Acupuncture needles are inserted for about 20 minutes. Most animals that undergo acupuncture relax and enjoy the process, some may even fall asleep. An alternative method to needles is laser acupuncture. A customised treatment plan can be made for your pet depending on their condition. Acupuncture can be used also be used in conjunction with other naturopathic therapies such as Homeopathy, Animal Chiropractic and Laser therapies, as well as conventional medicine.
