RADIOGRAPHY

At Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic, we offer fast, non-invasive digital x-rays for dogs, cats, and other pets. Our advanced imaging technology allows for quick processing, reducing waiting times, and helping us diagnose your pet’s condition more efficiently.

Digital x-rays are an essential tool in identifying the cause of your pet’s pain or discomfort. In some cases—such as fractures or more painful conditions—sedation or pain relief may be required to ensure your pet’s comfort during the procedure.

In addition to general x-rays, we also provide dental x-rays, which allow us to assess the health of tooth roots and detect issues hidden beneath the gumline. This gives us a more complete understanding of your pet’s oral health and guides us to a more accurate treatment.

ULTRASONOGRAPHY

Ultrasound is a safe, painless imaging technique that uses sound waves to create detailed images of internal organs and structures.

It can be used to examine the lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, spleen, pancreas, gall bladder, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, blood vessels, urinary bladder, prostate, uterus, and ovaries. Ultrasound also allows for the guidance of fine-needle sampling of abnormal fluid or masses and can be used to monitor pregnancy and assess fetal heart rates.

At Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic, we aim to make the ultrasound experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible for your dog, cat, or other pet. To perform an ultrasound, the area of interest will need to be shaved, and in some cases, light sedation may be recommended to help keep your pet calm and still during the procedure.

In-House Blood Testing & Laboratory

We offer in-house testing for blood, urine, and other samples, providing results in as little as 30 minutes. This allows us to quickly assess your pet’s health—whether for pre-surgical screening or broader health checks in non-urgent cases.

For more comprehensive testing, we partner with IDEXX Laboratories Inc., a trusted external pathology service that collects samples from us twice daily. We always aim to share results with you as soon as they become available, ensuring timely and informed care for your pet.
